Emily has sung jazz in the Whitney Smith Big Steam Band, blues in Emily & the Blue Callers and funk/R&B in the 10 piece funk band, Project Phoenix. She has had the privilege of performing to thousands of people at the prestigious Beaches International Jazz Festival, The Niagara Wine Festival and also at clubs like the Bitter End in NYC. Emily Mac took a brief hiatus from performing to hone her craft as a songwriter which included studying with songwriting mentors like Pat Patterson.
Emily MacLeod grew up listening to Motown and imitating the voices of Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding and the Temptations in time she was exposed to more music styles rock n roll and the blues which really struck a chord.
