Bridget Melody Aloi is a multi-talented recording artist with indigenous music in her blood and her heart, which comes alive in her magical melodies and poignant lyrics. As an all- round creative junkie, Bridget Melody has journeyed through the Arts as a dancer, actor, painter and as a singer/songwriter. Armed with a distinctive vocal style and arsenal of material, Bridget captivates audiences with engaging songs that stir the soul, challenge the conscience and elevate the spirit.
Drawing from her Indigenous roots, Bridget Melody uses music as a vehicle to advocate for Aboriginal rights with truth and reconciliation as the driving message. “My maternal grandmother is First Nations, a descendent of the Mi'kmaq tribe. I attribute my deep respect and affinity with nature along with my spirituality with my Indigenous heritage. As such, I have felt compelled to explore Indigenous history and way of life which has become an integral part of my artistry.
The inspiration for this project comes from the realization of a cry rising forth from the depths of our collective spirit to see truth, justice and redemption established in our society and land. These themes are interwoven throughout the album as a message of hope and a call to action for the healing and restoration of humanity and nature.” - Bridget Melody
Actively performing around town at various coffee houses and open stage venues, Bridget Melody regularly plays at the Toronto Public Library for their ongoing series Urban Folk Art Salon which showcases local poets, songwriters and story-tellers. Bridget has also made appearances on Radio shows such as The Undiscovered Show on CIUT 89.5FM and on CJRU The Scope at Ryerson for a segment of Songtalk Radio. In the coming months, Bridget Melody will be devoting her time towards a project that is long overdue - recording a full length album called ‘Deep Calls’.
